We’ve all had that friend (or, um, been that friend) who spends the awkward first few weeks of dating hemming and hawing over their new love interest. Why hasn’t he called me yet? Maybe she wasn’t that into me anyway. Should I just call her? I’m not sure I liked him that much, but he was OK. I guess it would be fun to go out again. I should give it a try, I suppose. Maybe. Maybe not. But then again, what if it turns out to be something great?? Yep, most people have been there. But not the delightful couple we are featuring today, Melissa and Dan. They had none of this ambivalence when they met. They chuckled as they told us about the night they first met at The Establishment in Sydney’s CBD. They instantly hit it off, and Dan had no qualms about bringing Melissa straight over to meet all of his mates at The Lord Nelson Brewery the same night. Of course, he surprised all of his mates when he showed up very late to their catch-up with a beautiful lady friend in tow! So, for their engagement shoot, we had to stop by The Lord Nelson for few photos.

Melissa and Dan’s certainty about their great connection continued. It was actually the day before Dan’s birthday when they met, and Dan had a weekend of family-filled, beach-side birthday celebrations planned out of town. Dan said he didn’t even need to think twice about inviting Mel along to meet all of his family, and Mel didn’t hesitate to accept the invitation. Dan said that even his mother commented straight away that she thought Mel was a keeper!

Of course we had to take a few shots in one of our favourite spots in The Rocks, the narrow Nurse’s Walk. Melissa was looking hot in her high heels!

Nearly two years later, these two are just as happy together as can be. They said they were nervous for the photo shoot, but we couldn’t tell at all! Melissa was so bubbly and has the most beautiful smile. Aren’t they so cute together?

We wandered around the back streets of The Rocks and Millers Point looking for cool doors and textures. These guys looked great all dolled up for our winter’s day engagement shoot. Is it just me, or does Dan look a little bit like a young John Travolta? Very handsome!

Mel and Dan are both just oozing with positive vibes and lots of energy and I think you can really see it in their smiles. When we first met these two for coffee, Mel told us that one of her hobbies is rock n’ roll dancing! Although we haven’t had the privilege to see her dance yet, somehow I can already tell that rock n’ roll dancing suits her perfectly!

Melissa said she was completely surprised when Dan proposed. Afterwards, Mel knew she wanted to get Dan an engagement gift too. What a lucky guy!

For sunset, we took a walk up to the scenic Observatory Hill (where there is an actual observatory, too, in case you didn’t know!)

Melissa switched her shoes and put on these hot red beauties!

It was turning out to be a gorgeous winter sunset. Click on this panorama to view it larger!

Melissa and Dan, we don’t have to hem and haw… we think you’re pretty cool and we should hang out again. Like, maybe at your wedding. ;) Melissa and Dan have picked a fantastic venue for their wedding in September. Melissa also told me a bit about her fabulous dress… I will keep my lips sealed… but let me tell you, you will want to see this wedding!
Friends and family of Mel and Dan, feel free to leave a comment for these lovebirds below, and if you provide your email address in the email field we’ll let you know when their full gallery of images is available online for viewing.
