There’s no doubt that Tasmania offered some superb driving scenery on its empty roads, but no Australian road trip would be complete without a drive along the picturesque Great Ocean Road in Victoria. After a day of recovery in Melbourne (day 11), complete with a beautiful barbeque dinner at our mate Elisha’s parents’ house, we spent a full day cruising through sleepy beach towns along 250 kilometers of spectacular coastline. Here are some of the sights along the way:
Loch Ard Gorge
The London Bridge Arch
(The “bridge” fell down in 1990… seriously)
The Great Ocean Road ends near the beachside town of Warrnambool, hometown of our mate Matt and the place where we’d meet up with him and some other good mates from Sydney. We enjoyed another lovely Aussie barbeque and party, a lazy afternoon on the beach, an activity that the locals refer to as “the gap” (you’ll just have to ask us about it later), and some good times at the local pubs. We failed to take any photos in Warrnambool, but here are more from the Great Ocean Road.
