Today’s wedding is a real treat for the eyes! We’ve already introduced you to our beautiful and super-cute clients Minnah and Phil, first in their elegant springtime engagement shoot down in La Perouse, and then in their second summery, hip and urban engagement session on Cockatoo Island. Jeff and I had been looking forward to their wedding day for nine whole months since they hired us last year. As we’ve gotten to know Minnah and Phil over this time, it’s become clear just how perfect they are for each other. When they laugh with each other, tease each other, support each other after rough days at work, joke about their incompatible-yet-compatible habits in the kitchen, and giggle about their shared lack of a green thumb, it’s clear just how much Minnah and Phil are truly best friends. Their wedding was just as wonderful as we expected, and a real treat to photograph. The locations were simply fabulous, as you will see! I started out with Minnah, her Maid of Honour, her mother and new mother-in-law as they got ready at the Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay. They told me to come up to the 32nd floor, where I was SO excited to see that they had the Presidential Suite! Just check out the killer view from one of the bedrooms:

Minnah is a girl after my own heart! She had not one, not two or even three, but four dresses lined up for the day: a spectacular ballgown for the ceremony and bridal party portraits, a beautiful traditional Korean dress for part of the reception, a more form-fitting and gorgeous dress for dancing, and her mother-in-law’s own cheongsam for the Chinese tea ceremony, which I thought was so special!

This is the cheongsam that Phil’s mother wore for her own wedding. How many mothers dream about their daughters one day wearing their wedding gown? I’d say most. And how many daughters actually end up wearing it? Not many. It must have been so special for Phil’s mother to see her soon-to-be daugther-in-law wear it. The silk still looked absolutely beautiful, and it was tailored beautifully in a classic cut.

Check out these red beauties! They make me happy.

How crazy cool is this giant suite?

Minnah was looking absolutely radiant as she put on her dress.

Livia of Style 7 Makeup Artistry did a fabulous job on Minnah’s hair and makeup throughout the day. She transformed Minnah’s look three times over the course of the day!

Minnah’s mother looked on lovingly as the final touches were completed.

Isn’t she stunning?!

Meanwhile, Jeff was hanging out with the boys as they got ready, which included some lounging around:

Phil had their wedding rings safely secured in an adorable little treasure chest:

Phil was looking pretty relaxed, calm and cool.

When Minnah and Phil told us months ago which church they had chosen, we were SO excited! This is St Jude’s Anglican Church in Randwick. I love all the old sandstone buildings in Sydney, and this church is definitely something special.

The boys were all ready early (good job, boys!) so Jeff took some time to grab some fun shots of all the guys. What a great group of groomsmen Phil has!

Minnah’s brother, whom she lovingly called her “Man of Honour”, and her Maid of Honour started off the procession.

Minnah looked stunning coming down the aisle in her beautiful gown.

Phil was so happy to see his bride!

This church is so beautiful, isn’t it? They even had a choir, which made all of the hymns sound especially beautiful.

I love this one of Phil putting on Minnah’s ring.

And they were married!

These two are some of my favourites.

LOVE this one of the bridal party!

Congratulations Minnah and Phil! Stay tuned, because there are lots more pictures of this beautiful couple coming to the blog soon. We have some beautiful bridal party portraits in Centennial Park, Minnah and Phil’s emotional Chinese tea ceremony, and their fabulous, dancing-filled reception! It’s all coming up in Part 2!
